Which skin types can receive hair removal?

What do treatments feel like?
The CoolGlide handpiece cools and soothes the skin as it glides along your skin. When a pulse of light is delivered, some patients may experience a series of short pinching sensation. Sensitivity varies from person to person.
How many treatments will I need?
Hair develops in phases and we can only treat hair in its active, visible phase. Therefore, number of treatments depend on how quickly the untreated hairs appear. Most areas require 8 treatments, which are spaced four to eight weeks apart.
Please Note: Not all hairs are actively growing at the same time and actually go through three distinct phases: growth, regression, and resting. Laser hair removal treatments work by disabling the hair that is principally in the active growth phase at the time of treatment. Since other hairs will enter this active growth phase at different times, additional treatments may be necessary to disable all of the hair follicles in a given area.
Do I need to grow the hair out before my treatment?
No. In fact, we ask that you shave 24-48 hours before your treatment as the treatment is targeting the hair follicle itself, not just hair. Please do not wax.
How does the CoolGlide compare with electrolysis?
Electrolysis is a tedious, invasive, and painful process that involves inserting a needle into each individual hair follicle and delivering an electrical charge to them one at a time. Electrolysis often requires years of treatments at regular intervals. By delivering light energy to hundreds of hair follicles at a time, the CoolGlide effectively treats an area in just seconds that would take over an hour with electrolysis.
